<Insights> The Correct Insertion/Tunnelling Layer for Cogged Minimally Invasive Non-Surgical T

In this week's newsletter, #IFAAS Faculty, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. Jennifer Song shares her exclusive tips on the correct insertion/tubing layer for cogged Minimally Invasive Nonsurgical Thread (MINT).

What is Mint Lift?

The Minimal Invasive Nonsurgical Thread (MINT) Lift is a nonsurgical facelift, specially performed on the face. A face lifting technique using a special suture thread called PDO (polydioxanone), it restores the jawline and V-line of the face by pulling up the sagging skin tissues. This painless and non swelling procedure has a low downtime, allowing patients to achieve immediate natural lift effect. Most importantly, MINT's biodegradable material is FDA approved and absorbed completely. Side effects are so minimal that unnoticeable activities are enabled immediately after the procedure.

The Correct Insertion Layer of MINT Lift

If you wish to hide your knots within the soft tissue, you will have to use the scissor to open the insertion point and touch the deeper layer, the superficial layer has to be mobile enough to suck the knots inside.

The insertion of the thread should be in the sub-q layer, the indication of knowing you are in the correct layer is when you can still freely move your cannula when it is being inserted into that layer. Then you can continue to forward your thread in the same layer until you reach the boarder of the malar fat pad.

In order to use cogged Minimally Invasive Nonsurgical Thread to correct the Nasolabial Fold, you will then forward your thread to a deeper layer until you reach the nasolabial fold.

You will then have to test your threads's movement to see if you have inserted your thread into the correct layer for the maximised lifting results.
