Decanting Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Filler with Lidocaine - Video

Hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers have had gained recognised popularity in the fields of aesthetic and cosmetic medicine over the years, and are regarded as one of the most widely used non-surgical injectables to augment facial volume due to their ease of administration, predictable effectiveness, good safety profile, and quick patient recovery.

An ideal aesthetic procedure should be safe, quick, effective, and painless - although HA dermal fillers meet this demand in many ways, they do not fully address the concern of pain management.

Decanting Hyaluronic Acid (HA) with Lidocaine

Several studies have examined and compared HA fillers injectable procedures with and without lidocaine, revealing significantly less pain and, in some cases, less erythema, swelling, and bruising with adjunct lidocaine.

Adjunct lidocaine has also shown consistent significance in decreasing pain in patients both during administration and post-injection with majority of patients reporting improved overall experience and preference for HA filler treatment with adjunct lidocaine for future treatments. Further more, there were no documented compromise to efficacy or duration of action with adjunct lidocaine compared to injections without.

This evidences that adjunctive lidocaine allows non-surgical treatments to be better tailored to the needs and demands of a patient, while minimising discomfort and increasing recovery rate, which in turn can augment patient satisfaction with similar or even better results.

This week, our IFAAS faculty, demonstrates the exclusive technique of Decanting Hyaluronic Acid with Lidocaine to 1) minimise patient discomfort and common side effects during, as well as, post-injection, and 2) save un-used HA for future usage without wasting or over-injecting
