IFAAS MINI FELLOWSHIP Q3 2024

 

Learning  Objectives: 

Aesthetic surgery of the upper eyelids is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgeries in Oriental countries. There are also an increasing number of Oriental patients seeking aesthetic eyelid surgery in North America and other Western countries. This mini fellowship will happen in our faculty's clinic and OR room and will teach you:

 

  • Clinical Assessment of the Periorbital Region in Caucasian and Asian Patients 

  • Understand the Differences between Sutures Method and Incisional Method: Patient Selection 

  • Step-by-Step Technique of Non-incision & Incisional Upper Eyelid Surgeries: Double Eyelid Crease Creation, Ptosis Correction, Transblepharoplasty Corrugator Resection, Medial Epicanthoplasty, Lateral Canthoplasty & Ancillary Procedures 

  • Step-by-Step Technique of Blepharoplasty of Lower Eyelid, Canthopexy, Canthoplasty & Ancillary 

  • Complication Management & Combination Therapies

Moon-Seop Choi, M.D., South Korea 

Dr. Moonseop Choi is a board-certified plastic surgeon who graduated from The Catholic University of Korea. He is currently the director of Grace Plastic Surgery Clinic and attending assistant professor at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, Seoul, Korea. He is the member of The Korean Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons and The Korean Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He is specialized in blepharoplasty, breast surgery, and minimally invasive surgery. He is also an active member of Academic Affairs of Blepharoplasty, Breast surgery, and Filler, Botox, and Thread group in the Korean Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has given many lectures globally including Korea, China, Thailand, Brazil and so on and written a part of textbook “Aesthetic Plastic Surgery”(2014, 2016) and “Safe guide for filler injection"(2017).

Seong-Yoon Lim, M.D., South Korea

As a graduate of Medical College of Ajou University, Dr. Lim Seong-Yoon, completed his residency and obtained his master’s degree at the Ajou University Hospital. As a former clinical lecturer in microsurgery at the Plastic Surgery Lab of China Medical University, he is trained in super-micro surgery at the Plastic Surgery Lab of Tokyo University, and has been honoured the Foreign Scholarship Awards at the 2013 Atlanta Breast Symposium. He is also a member of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Korean Burn Society, of American Society of Plastic Surgery. Above all, he has also held the positions of manager of Hanil Hospital, clinical lecturer of Plastic Surgery Lab of Aju University Hospital, as well as director of Wonjin Plastic Surgery and ID Hospital. Currently, he is also one of the Medical Director of Uber Plastic Surgery, specialise in Asian Blepharoplasty.
