Course Overview:

 

 

This intensive 3-day Mini Fellowship program provides a unique opportunity for medical professionals to delve into the intricate art of Asian Rhinoplasty and Surgical Bone Contouring. Designed to offer a comprehensive learning experience, this course encompasses a combination of in-depth lectures and live surgery observations. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the nuances of Asian Rhinoplasty, focusing on the specific characteristics and cultural preferences of Asian patients. Moreover, they will explore the intricate techniques involved in surgical bone contouring, including jawline and cheekbone sculpting. Renowned experts Dr Jeong and Dr Kim in the field will share their insights, providing invaluable knowledge, while live surgery observations will offer a firsthand look at the intricacies of these procedures. By the end of this Mini Fellowship, attendees will be equipped with a solid foundation in these specialised techniques, poised to enhance their expertise in the world of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

11:00  Full Day Observation in the Operation Room for Advanced Asian Rhinoplasty Surgeries 

 

Day 2: Thursday, August 22, 2024

 

10:00 - 11:00  Lecture on Advanced Asian Tip Plasty  

  • Suture Techniques for Cartilage Modification: Transdomal, Interdomal, Cruraseptal, Mattress Sutures to Lateral Crura, Lateral Crura Turn-under, Domal Resection/Reconstruction 

  • Other Grafts (Onlay, Shield, Spreaders, De-rotation, Umbrella, Anatomical) 

  • Complication Management 

 

11:00  Full Day Observation in the Operation Room for Advanced Asian Rhinoplasty Surgeries 

 

 

Day 3: Friday, August 23, 2024 

 

10:00 - 11:00  Lecture on Advanced Bone Contouring 

  • Surgical anatomy for facial bone contouring surgery 

  • Preoperative analysis

  • Observation of Zygoma reduction, Genioplasty, and Mandibular anguloplasty

  • Model surgery

 

11:00  Full Day Observation in the Operation Room for Advanced Bone Contouring Surgeries

Jae-Yong Jeong, M.D., South Korea 

Dr. Jae-Yong Jeong is a board-certified plastic surgeon who graduated from Chungnam National Unversity Medical College. He is currently the Director of The PLUS Aesthetic Surgery Clinic in Seoul, South Korea. He is a Scientific Director of the Korean Association of Plastic Surgeons and an Executive Director of the Korean Society of Rhinoplasty Surgeons. He specializes in Asian Rhinoplasty and Revisional Rhinoplasty. To share his expertise on the very subject, he has published dozens of scientific papers and peer reviews in some of the most prestigious global medical journals. He is also the author/co-author of the textbooks "Aesthetic Plastic Surgery" (2014) and "Rhinoplasty: Rebuilding Nose" (2016) along with other 3 books he has written about Asian Rhinoplasty based on 17 years of rich experience.

Seung-Hyun Ahn, M.D., South Korea

Dr. Ahn Seung-Hyun earned his M.D. and PhD from Seoul National University, College of Medicine. As a full member of both the Korean Society of Plastic Surgery and the Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Ahn remains at the forefront of his profession. Dr. Ahn is also actively involved with the Research Council for the Korean Association of Maxillofacial Plastic Surgery and the Rhinoplasty Research Society of the Korean Society of Plastic Surgery. His career includes a significant tenure as a doctor at AB Plastic Surgery, further highlighting his commitment to excellence in patient care and continuous medical innovation.
