Non-Surgical Body Contouring: Abdomen Tightening Using Collagen Stimulating Threads - Exclusive Vide

While Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are often than not used for facial contouring, tightening and lifting, they can also be used in most, if not all, problematic areas that require tightening of the skin. These includes areas such as abdomen, arms and buttocks. When PDO threads are used in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures, results may be prolonged.

Body Threads

Body threads function like “invisible supports” - when placed under the skin at a particular depth and specific direction, they can effectively stimulate fresh collagen production. Gradually the matrix of collagen formed around theses threads enable a lifted effect and help in the restoration of volume in the targeted areas.

Some benefits of using body threads are:

  • Awaking and activation of the body’s natural healing processes

  • Stimulation of collagen and elastin production

  • Stimulation of fibroblasts

  • Stimulation of new blood vessels

  • Lost volume restoration

  • Skin tightening, lifting and rejuvenation

  • Skin texture and tone improvement

These results are usually immediately visible, and have proven to gradually improve over time with the duration of the lifting effect lasting up to 1-2 years.

Non-Surgical Cosmetic Procedures: Demand On The Rise

Based on a data released by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), Americans spent more than US$247 million on body contouring procedures in 2016 alone, with more than 700,000 increase in the number of procedures performed as compared to 2015. This number has continued to rise and according to the latest data released in March 2019 by ASAPS, the number of non-surgical and minimally invasive procedures performed in 2018 alone stands at more than 17.7 million. Similarly, information released by Global Data shows that the body contouring market is set to growing bigger by demand, and is expected to rise in value - to more than US$1 billion by 2020.

Abdomen Lift Using Collagen Stimulating Threads

Body contouring using collagen stimulating threads can allow patients to safely achieve a more toned and defined body contour without having to undergo any surgical procedures. However, to deliver optimum results, a physician has to take into consideration various factors when performing the procedure.

This week, IFAAS faculty, Dr. Kwon, demonstrates his exclusive technique on Using Collagen Stimulating Threads for Abdomen Tightening to Deliver the Most Optimum Results:
