[Event Highlights] - Advanced Blepharoplasty: Suture & Incisional Techniques Hands-On Master Cla

Last week, we have had the honour of hosting 40 doctors from 14 different countries; each an esteemed professional of their own specialities at our Advanced Blepharoplasty: Suture & Incisional Techniques Hands-On Master Class (Fresh Cadaver) in Singapore on 28-29 November.

Led by renowned Blepharoplasty experts, Dr. Moon Seop Choi from South Korea and Dr. Matthew Yeo from Singapore. Our delegates not only learned through the series of lectures lined up for them, covering topics such as Differences in Asian Blephraplasty, Clinical Evaluation, Instrument, Suture Material, Operation Settings, Anatomy of the Upper and Lower yelid as well as the Periorbital Area, but also Medical Epicanthoplasty, non-incisional blepharoplasty, Step-by-Step Techniques on Lncisional Blepharoplasty, and Lateral Canthal Lengthening & Lower Lid Lowering.

On the the second day of the Master Class, all delegates have had the opportunity to practice the taught techniques on fresh cadavers - learning Non-incision Upper Eyelid Surgeries on how to create Double Eyelid Creases, Correct Ptosis and Epiblepharon Repair through hands-on training. The Master Class also allowed them to better understand:

  • Patient Positioning,

  • Marking & Designing,

  • Defining the Crease: Goal & Benchmark

  • Non-incisional Double Eyelid Crease Blepharoplasty

  • Non-incisional Ptosis Correction

  • Non-incisional Epibepharon Correction

  • How to get around Fat Pad of the Upper Lids

  • Removal of the Sutures Post Procedure

Aside from having a go at Non-incisional techniques, all delegates also had the chance to practice some of the exclusive Incisional techniques led by both Dr. Choi and Dr. Yeo; learning the art from the masters on Buried Sutures as well as the following:

  • Marking & Designing

  • Injecting Local Anaesthesia Prior to the Procedure

  • Clinical Assessment

  • Designing the Crease

  • Periorbital Fat Grafting

  • Transblepharoplasty Corrugator Resection

  • Transpalpebral Browpexy

  • Lacrimal gland repositioning

  • Botulinum Toxin Injection

  • Medial Epicanthoplasty and Lateral Canthoplasty
